What’s in a Name?
It was early 2004. Ethan and Tisa Mantle were seeking the perfect name for their new catering company. A few months into the search, Tisa came across the Latin root word componere in a food magazine article. It means “to bring every piece together” and captured their desire to build a company that obsesses about every detail of the client’s experience, from the first hors d’oeurves to the last sip of coffee. Componere Fine Catering was born.

We love food. We love creating unforgettable experiences for our clients. And we only accept a limited number of events, ensuring that each receives our full attention and has a top flight team of chefs and service staff. Limiting the number of events we do also allows us to truly customize every event. Every person and occasion is unique and we make each event a reflection of that.
What We Do
We offer a full range of catering and event services for weddings, corporate events and private parties. Our kitchen and office is centrally located in Emeryville and we cater large and small events throughout Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area and Wine Country.
Whether it’s passed appetizers for fifty or a gala celebration for one thousand, we provide warm, friendly and professional service combined with delicious, beautifully presented world class cuisine.
